Gracie Turns One

Where did the time go? Our sweet baby girl is so big now, and celebrated her 1st Birthday! (Ok, ok, two months ago! So, I'm a *little* behind, LOL!)
Just a few photos to share...

Over the Summer...

Over the summer, Dougie and I left the boys for an extended amount of time for the first time ever. I know, 4 days is really not THAT long... but we've never been away from them for more than one night.
We took Gracie to the "6th Annual AMCSI Conference". This was a conference put on by the Arthrogryposis support group that we belong to.

While we were in K.C. the boys went to San Diego with Grandma Kitty, for a mini-vacation of their own. They went to the beach, Sea World, and the Children's Museum. Then came home a day early to have a sleepover/camp-out in Grammy Pammy & Papa Jay's backyard. Fun!!

The trip was fun... But it sure was good to be home as a Family of Five again!

Life as we know it...

Life as we know it has been intense, and crazy, and busy since April. There's been a lot going on.
But finally the school year has wrapped up, Little League has come to a close, and we are ready for what lies ahead.
Matthew started preschool back in April, went for about 6 weeks, and then went on Summer break. We are looking forward to him getting a full year of school starting in August.

Matty very much enjoyed his time in Miss Julie's class. It was a great introduction for him into the preschool atmosphere. I also enjoyed his time there, and really love the parent cooperative system. On June 1st, I began my term as recording secretary for Inland Preschool's executive board. I am looking forward to being a part of this wonderful school!!

Jayson played T-ball and truly excelled in school, earning awards and recognition for his outstanding efforts. We are so proud of our boy!

Gracie has begun her physical therapy program, and continues to gain strength. Slowly but surely.

Within the next several weeks we are planning to  move to a new house, that suits the needs of our family much better than our current home. We are very excited for this to transpire!
And finally, we are looking forward to several of the summer activities on our "wish list".

Parent-Teacher Conference

I just got home from my Parent-Teacher conference for Jayson. He's doing great in everything, even got some "O's" (outstanding) in a few areas.
But the best of all that I heard today...
When Jayson started 1st grade, he was reading at a 0.9 reading level. That would be equal to the 9th month of kindergarten... so he wasn't even at 1st grade level yet. NOW he is reading at a 2.5 reading level. Which means equal to the 5th month of 2nd grade. What a remarkable achievement!! SO PROUD of this big boy.

Jump Rope for Heart

Jayson is going to participate in the "Jump Rope for Heart" event at his school. All donations go to the American Heart Association. If you are willing to donate even a little, it would sure be appreciated!!

Sicky, Sicky, Sicky...

It's been a looooong two weeks in this house. Started out with Jayson super sick with fever, and cough. Then he seemed to be on the mend, but got a bad case of nausea. All in one week! He missed almost the whole week of school :(
Then Matty got it... cough, slight fever. Miserable.
And of course, Gracie. Cough... not too bad with the fever, thank goodness. But what an awful cough.
*sigh*
They all seem to be on the mend now though. The two littles have lingering coughs, but seem to feel ok, so that's good.
Praying for Healthy Kiddos!

Welcome!!

I have been looking for ways to make it easy for family and friends to keep up with us. I started a Share Site on Shutterfly, where I can post pictures, journal entries, and members can leave comments. And now I think this blog will be a good way for more detailed stories and updates regarding our family :)
Bear with me as I get the ball rolling on this blog!
